That Inevitable Question

The most popular question that I get asked around lately is not "What's your name?", "How old are you?", or "Why are you so awesome?" (shocking, I know).

It is "What happened?".

Why would they ask this simple question?

Well, because of THIS:

Photo: Foot rest.
It's that THING that's wrapped around my left leg in the picture above that surprises people. It's the physical appearance of my body draped over crutches that grabs people attention, and at work, it's the physical appearance of a healthy, young woman sitting in a wheelchair that startles people (hey, it's easier to move around the office with a wheelchair!).

People endlessly wonder what happened to me. Sometimes I get so sick of telling them the real story that I make up stories for my own amusement. My favorite one that I like to tell is that I tried break-dancing for the first time and now, I understand why people call it "break-dancing".

The funniest part is that sometimes, people don't even pay attention to what I say as the cause of my foot injury. They only like to sympathetically nod and do the "poor you!" face. I just let them carry on with their pity for me. That pity comes in handy sometimes!

As for the real reason of my foot injury, I won't disclose it in here...at least, not yet.

That leaves room for people to improvise and guess! Isn't that more fun?

Finally! I'm here!

This is quite embarrassing for me to admit but I've finally moved on from Xanga after 9 years. I should have done it awhile ago but I was always too lazy to do it. Now that I'm on crutches and sitting at home most of the time, I think now is the perfect time to do it. I have so much to write about and I can't wait to get the words out of my head!
